For those intending to use a hardware wallet, we recommend using a Ledger. You can find detailed documentation for setting up a Ledger Cosmos account:

Make sure to install the Cosmos (ATOM) app on your Ledger device. To do this you must:

  1. Open Ledger Live and navigate to the "My Ledger" tab.

  2. Connect and unlock your Ledger device.

  3. If asked, allow the "My Ledger" on your device.

  4. Search for the "Cosmos (ATOM)" app in the app catalog.

  5. Click the Install button to install the app on your Ledger device.

Click on "Connect Hardware Wallet" and Select Connect Ledger.

  • Connect your Ledger to your device.

  • Follow the step 2 on opening the Cosmos app on your Ledger

  • Click Next to continue.

  • On Select Chains, search for Self Chain and check the box to select it as a support chain.

  • Click Save

After finishing the select chains step, the wallet is created using your Ledger.

Click Finish and start to using your Keplr wallet.

To connect your Keplr (Cosmos) wallet to your Ledger, open up a browser with the installed. Add a new Wallet:
